The Red Bank Men’s Club Foundation
The Red Bank Men’s Club Foundation (RBMCF) is sponsoring a Juneteenth Essay Contest as part of the celebration of the Juneteenth Holiday.
Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to the essay winners at the Juneteenth Street Fair on Sunday, June 16th, 2024, (all day) at the Johnny Jazz Park.
The contest is open to students graduating from high school in June 2024, or currently enrolled college students who graduated from high school between the years 2021-2023.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Monmouth County/Ocean County Resident.
- Graduating High School seniors 2024 with proof of acceptance of enrollment at a 2- or 4-year college for September 2024 school year.
- College Students who graduated from high school years 2021-2023 with proof of enrollment in college (i.e. latest transcript).
- Submission of application and the Juneteenth Essay by May 24, 2024.
- Essays can focus on the history, significance, celebration, or personal experience of Juneteenth
Contest Rules:
- Essays will be selected based on creativity, originality, knowledge of the history/ significance of Juneteenth.
- Essay must consist of 1000 words or less in length.
- Essay must be original work of applicant. (no Artificial Intelligence (AI or plagiarism).
- Essay must include the applicant’s name, grade level, school and contact information (e.g., cell # and email address).
- Essay must be submitted as a Ms Word document or PDF, with all text double space and in 12 pt. font.
- Entries will not be accepted after 11:59 PM, May 24, 2024.
